Dr Abdu Ali
IFB Director
Dr. Abdu is a trainer, consultant and head of interest free finance department at Maxbridge Education and Development. He received BA in Accounting from Haramaya University and MSc in Accounting and Finance Addis Ababa University. In addition, he received MA in Islamic Economics and Finance from Istanbul University. He completed his PhD in Business Administration (Finance) at Marmara University and post-doctoral research fellowship in Islamic financial institutions at Istanbul University (Turkey). He taught accounting and finance courses at Wolaita Sodo University and other private universities in Ethiopia. He attended summer school courses in Islamic Economics and Finance at Sabahattin Zaim University.
Hakan Aslan(Ph.D.)
Lecturer
Dr. Hakan Aslan is a scholar focusing mostly on Islamic Insurance, Islamic Finance and Islamic Capital Markets. He attended the Islamic Finance Summer School at Durham University, the UK in 2018. He has worked in the Participation-Based Insurance department within the Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Agency (SEDDK) during 2021. Currently, he is serving as the director of the Research Centre of Islamic Economics and Finance at Sakarya University and the head of the Islamic Economics and Finance Department of the Faculty of Political Sciences at Sakarya University. His main research areas are Islamic Insurance, Islamic finance, and Islamic Capital Markets.
Dr Abdurahman
Trainer
Dr. Abdurahman is a trainer and consultant at Maxbridge Education and Development. He is a researcher of Islamic Finance and Economics in Qatar. He has worked in various academic & research institutions for more than 15 years as a lecturer and researcher in Ethiopia, Turkey, and Qatar. He also has short experience in the industry and further gained experience through internships in various organizations, including Qatar Stock Exchange on Islamic Index. For the past seven years, he has worked closely with Islamic Banking professionals in Turkey and Qatar. He is a certified zakat accountant and held a certificate on AAOIFI Financial Accounting Standards (FAS). Furthermore, he participated and presented various papers in many international Islamic Banking and Finance Conferences.
Suadiq Mohammed (Ph.D.)
Trainer
Suadiq is a trainer and consultant at Maxbridge Education and Development. He is a PhD Candidate in Finance at Cukurova University, Adana, Turkey. He has an MA in Banking and Finance from Ankara Yildrim Beyazit University, Turkey, B.Sc. in Islamic Economics, Banking and Finance from International Open University and BA in Banking and Finance from Jimma University. He worked as customer service officer of interest free banking window services at Oromia International Bank in 2014. His research focuses on both conventional and Islamic finance areas; and published a couple of research papers on both disciplines.
